Seasonal Student Employment
Wall Drug offers a fun work environment, attractive pay, opportunity for overtime, safe and affordable housing options, in-store discounts, and much more! Employees at Wall Drug have the option of working five or six days each week, with the busiest time of the year being from April until mid-September. Most seasonal employees work three to four months. Employees are expected to exhibit customer service skills and be great team members.
Seasonal Employee Benefits
Wall Drug offers several benefits for college and adult seasonal employees including:
- $14.00 per hour, minimum
- Overtime Opportunities - $21.00, minimum, for every hour worked over 40 hours per week
- Split Shifts - 3-4 hours on duty, 1-4 hours off duty and return for 3-4 hours for a total of 8 hours
- 1 to 2 days off per week - usually the same day(s) each week
- Uniform tops provided
- Must be washed and returned at end of season
- Wear your own jeans or black dress pants
- 25% discount on all items except for food, tobacco, and sale items
- Excellent references available for future jobs
- Free Black Hills & Badlands Tourism Association passes are given to employees to explore dozens of local attractions for free or at a reduced price.

Housing
- RV Housing: Employees with recreational vehicles are offered space in our trailer park for a weekly fee of $75 - all utilities included, and internet is provided.
- Dormitory Housing: Dormitory style housing is available for both college students and adults employed at Wall Drug. This housing style consists of 28 dormitories in Wall and costs $75 weekly with all utilities included. A $100 refundable deposit is due upon arrival. Rules and regulations in dormitory housing are similar to college dormitories, and a proctor monitors each dorm. Dormitories include a kitchen area and basic items for comfortable living, though employees will need to bring personal items such as towels, twin size bedding, and toiletries.
- The regulations observed in the dorms are the same as the ones typically found on college campuses.
- A proctor is selected for each dorm and he/she is responsible for the upkeep of the dorm along with the assistance of the employees living there.
- Internet access is provided at no charge in your dorm.
- The dormitories are well furnished
